Benjamin McDermott
The son of former Test quick Craig and brother of state paceman Alister, Ben McDermott made his Big Bash League debut in the 2013-14 season for Brisbane Heat, scoring 30 in his first match against Adelaide Strikers. He had signed a rookie contract at the start of that season but didn't make his debut for the Bulls until the following summer. His maiden first-class match was one to forget; he made scores of 0 and 2 and was the second wicket in Chadd Sayers's hat-trick at Adelaide Oval. McDermott rose to prominence in BBL|06 with a masterclass in big hitting, the right-hander blasted nine sixes on his way to a match-winning 114 off 52 balls.
Ben's father Craig sits fifth on the overall Australian Test wicket takers (291 wickets)
